Dove
Dove is a full length play, currently in development with ASOTO (A Stage Of Their Own) in New Jersey. Running time is approximately 90 minutes
Effie and Grant’s eight-year-old daughter Dove was killed when a chain on a carnival swing ride broke. Grant slips into a delusion, believing that his daughter was a bird that flew away when her chain broke. Effie, on the other hand, avoids saying Dove’s name and buries herself in household chores and church work. The parents confront each other over who was at fault in Dove’s death, who she really was, and how they should grieve for her. Dove returns as an adult to help her parents face the truth of her death and accept the gift of her life.
